keeping the dreams alive

branding matters.

I was flipping through last week’s copy of the Economist and chanced upon this advertisement from the Taiwanese government. Yup, a one page ad in The Economist.

Can I say I’m impressed? There are a couple of brands (i.e. D-Link) that I come across frequently, but never did know they are from Taiwan. This is certainly a good branding strategy! Well, at least it caught my eye for a couple of minutes just looking through the brands and what they do.

It’s not a surprise that Acer has become Taiwan’s number 1 brand, particularly when we saw a whole new range of laptops and net books from them since 2009.

There must be something similar in Singapore. But, I can’t remember which agency does it. Or, maybe there isn’t.
